This blog is proudly created By Keith Hackett for Keys to Referee.

When I appointed Prof Matt Weston to become the Sports Scientist for the PGMOL he rightly took control of all the training and put in place regimes to affect a lifestyle change in our match officials.

I introduced Polar Heart Monitors etc.

Shortly into his outstanding career and contribution to refereeing, he introduced a warm-up regime prior to a match.

After the first Saturday of its introduction, my office was buzzing with complimentary emails and phone calls from Managers complimenting us on this course of action.

In fact, the Sports Scientist attached to Chelsea requested a copy of the programme so that he could pass it onto the referees in Italy.

So today I share that programme with you so that when you get back to officiating you can adapt and apply it or compare it with your current warm-up procedure
